Charles Armstrong is a Senior Operations Executive with a solid track record of business transformation. As a strategic thinker and an adept team builder, he quickly identifies an organization’s needs, creates the strategic vision, and executes the tactical plan for comprehensive business turnaround. He has worked in dynamically changing environments and has the ability to maintain focus despite the day-to-day distractions associated with acquisitions, divestitures, changing market conditions and Chapter 11 events. Charles has worked in numerous industries including retail, entertainment, and consulting. As an Operations executive, he has managed organizations with both domestic and international scope and an employee base in excess of 4,000. His employment history includes Paramount Pictures, Montgomery Ward, Footstar, Deloitte & Touché, and Home Depot. Prior to joining Home Depot as Vice President Supply Chain -Distribution, Charles was President of the Paramount Pictures Studio Group, where he managed the studio’s businesses and operations, producing $177 million in revenue and $30 million in EBITDA, serving a daily population of 5,000 and an annual guest count of 110,000, and overseeing a 63-acre campus and two million square feet of facilities. In this position he implemented a turnaround, expanding the studio’s service offerings, improving service, and increasing profits by 50% in a highly competitive market. While at Montgomery Ward as Senior Vice President, he created a multi-tier supply-chain strategy, which leveraged information technology, vendor relationships, operations effectiveness and the creation of a customer-centric culture, improving turnover by 25%, reducing operating expenses by 20%, and reducing network infrastructure by 40%. These changes were implemented throughout a national network exceeding nine million square feet and employing more than 3,000 associates. Additionally, he directed an operating P&L in excess of $320 million. Charles is a respected member of the Los Angeles and Hollywood business communities. He is recognized for providing strategic direction and assistance to both public and charitable organizations. He is the Senior Vice Chairman of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, has been publicly recognized by the Los Angeles Fire Department for his community service, and sat on the boards of the Los Angeles Youth Network and Hollywood PAL. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware in Business Administration.
