Eric Lewis MD Explains – Why Miracle Dressing?

Transcript: Hi. I am Eric Lewis. I am the inventor of Miracle Dressing Wound Care System.

The proverb says necessity is the mother of invention and Miracle Dressing certainly follows that path.

I have been in practice in Beverly Hills for 38 years and in such I have used every single dressing known to man. The commonality is that they all need to be changed every day or every other day or they develop macerations and deterioration of the wound itself. By changing these dressings every day, you end up causing irritation of the surrounding skin.

The "band-aid" was invented over 100 years ago and it was invented in an age where the average lifespan was 50 years old. Now the average lifespan is 82 years old and that skin does not tolerate the changes of dressing. It tears up the surrounding wounds and the occlusion makes that wound very susceptible to breakdown. The obvious is that dressings now need to be replaced.

In 1981 I graduated from the Dermatology Residency Program at UCLA and started my private practice in Beverly Hills in Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery. But during this time, I filled a position that was desperately needed which was the dermatologist in charge of between 20 and 25 nursing homes in Santa Monica and Beverly Hills. While taking care of these elderly, debilitated patients, I developed a tremendous respect for nurses and nursing aides that took care of these recalcitrant ulcers, that had no solutions and continued to progress for years and years without any improvement, it was that experience that pushed me for the rest of my career to look for the solution for these types of horrible recalcitrant bedsores.
